Our in house Qualified Behaviourist and Trainer Stephanie Berry (APDT 519. DipCABT(OCN)ACA) runs weekly classes on Mondays and Fridays.

Offering:
Puppy, Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Obedience classes
Individual training sessions, Behavioural consultations and
Jump To It Agility Club.

Nothing is more satisfying than having a well-trained and obedient dog. Training is extremely rewarding; it is great fun and will build a strong relationship between you and your companion.

Of course there are many good books available to help you on your quest, but you both may find it more fun to attend training our classes where you not only will you have the benefit of our professional trainer but meeting regularly will allow your dog to socialise, allow you to meet and compare notes with other owners and perhaps even find new walking companions.

Dog training is not just something that you do with a new dog.  It is an ongoing process and as with children dogs develop through the years and inevitably your cute and cuddly puppy will soon become a naughty toddler, an adolescent teenager and eventually a retired OAP.  Training stimulates your dog, mentally and physically.  With a bit of patience and practice you might well be surprised at just what you and your dog can achieve.

It is important that the classes are run correctly and are well supervised.   It is important that the atmosphere is calm and relaxed, too many dogs may be overwhelming and a distraction and it is unlikely that you will receive adequate personal attention.  It is because of this that we place a limit of a
maximum of eight dogs per class.

Long gone are the days of choke chains and punishment.  Food and toys are excellent motivators and along with
praise and rewards will bring the best results.  We welcome you to come along and watch a session before you join.

Sadly there are no short cuts and training is an ongoing process.  Our classes will teach you as the owner the theory and techniques which you will then need to take home and consistently work on with your dog.  We are always at the end the phone should you need any extra help.

Training classes are not the place to solve behavioural problems.  Aggressive or nervous dogs benefit from individual assessments and may require one to one sessions prior to group classes.

Just remember training is about having fun.  It’s open to any dog of any age or breed of dog. Why not give it a try call
Steph Berry  at the surgery or on 07957613077.
